THE “Walong Dekada” officially launched the year’s program of activities for the 2005 Grand Alumni Homecoming, hosted by DCHS Class 1980, with Class 1955 celebrating their golden anniversary on April 23, 2005 at the Cinema 3 at NCCC Mall Davao.

The welcome address by President of the DCHS Alumni Class 1980 Dr. Honey Sarita J. Abarquez was very touching: “2005 is a milestone for our class. We are 25 years out of City High and in our individual and respective ways; we have become citizens of the world. And as such, periodically, we assess where we are now, as much as we periodically remember where we consciously begun our journeys as individuals. This year is homage time for our class. We are proud to be graduates of the Davao City High School. We are honored to be celebrating this year with DCHS Class 1955, our kindred’s from City High.”

The invocation was given by Vice-President Alan Fernandez and the “Pambansang Awit” performed by the DCNHS Choir

The calendar of activities for 2005 Grand Alumni Homecoming includes the May 21, 2005 “Kuwentuhan at Kapihan, 80/55 (venue to be announced!).

The “Day of the Year”, doce once cinco, will be on December 11, 2005 at the NCCC Mall, the “Grand Alumni Homecoming. Walong Dekada”.
