Remembering Racquel Alba - Corpuz

Batchmates,

Ive known Racquel since grade school. We grew up in the same neighborhood. I lived in Gen. Luna her family lives along Arellano Avenue. Her cousin Ivy Alba, is one of my bestfriend then at Thompson Christian School. During those times, we usually hang around at Ivy’s house and thats how i met Racquel and Erich as well.

Then at Davao City High School, our path often crossed passed each other. Though it was only during COCC16 training days i got to know more about this petite and bubbly woman. Oh how i envy her as she put on our famous fatigue uniform with matching beret and golden yellow scarf. She has that slender figure that compliments her.

She’s very friendly and always had a smile ready for everyone. Erich told me later that she really wanted to attend last years Dec 2004 Reunion but she gotten very ill.

Later they found out she had a tumor growing on her gastrocnemius (largest, most prominent muscle of the calf of the leg). She had been going in and out of the hospital for 6 months and it was only last week they decided to go through with the surgery. A few hours after the surgery, she was placed on the ICU with respirator on and on albumin drip. Her vital signs were very poor. Few hours after Racquel’s body finally gave in.

She left her wonderful husband with two beautiful daughters.

A loving mother, wife, friend, classmates, batchmate.

Her body lies at the TREVI room of Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes. Burial will be on the 16th of June 2005.

Again, our condolences and prayers to Racquel’s family.
