Now the Davao City National High School The Davao City High School Batch 1980 will be hosting the grand alumini homecoming for 2005 on December 11 at the NCCC Mall, Davao City.
The batch has monickered itself “Walong Dekada” , after the year 1980 that we finished from City High School and the fact that City High is eight decades old or so.

This year we hope to celebrate with three batches, !980, the batch that never had a formal graduation, 1955 this years golden celebrants and Batch 1930. The year that would have been the golden celebrants in 1980.

Our Batch would like to start by trying to encapsulate the essence of our High School in the last eight decades that it has been in existence. We would like to see in the pages of a book what it was like to be a student of City High at that particular decade in time, juxtaposed to highlights /events in Davao City, the Philippines and the world.

City High is about the thousands and thousands of students who entered and exited its gates. Help us in campaign of finding the people that composed the pictures and the events. Write down those memories and reflections on paper. Share with us the true essence of City High.

A letter of Invitation to all Batch years of the Davao City High School, now the Davao City National High School

The Davao City High School Batch 1980 will hosting the grand alumni Reunion for 2005 on December 11, at the NCCC Mall, of Davao City.

The batch has called this year’s celebration “Walong Dekado,” marking the year we graduated from City High and recognizing that our school is now 82 turning 83. We are inviting all the batches to participate. Our batch did not have the opportunity to formally exit City High through a graduation. We finished high school during a very turbulent period in Davao City’s history. No large congregations were allowed at that time. Consequently, DCHS Batch 1955, this years golden anniversary celebrants, were also unable to celebrate their 25th homecoming. The golden year alumni celebrants for 1980 did not have their day as well.

We would like to make the homecoming memorable as always, and perhaps triply memorable for the three affected batches.

We welcome your support for the celebration. We also welcome your suggestions.
Hopefully by the end of the first quarter of 2005, we will be able to collate all suggestions and come out with a program wherein the different batches can participate by the end of the second quarter of 2005. Hopefully, we will be able to accommodate all suggestions.

Lastly, the batch has come out with a green card which will be the ticket for next years activity. We never had a city high green card. We hope you can avail of one for yourself as a ticket to the alumni homecoming and it will also serve as one of the memorabilia of the event.

Section Abad Santos would like to invite all batchmates to attend and participate this year’s reunion entitled, “ BALIK CITY HIGH REUNION 2005 ”.

Yes, batchmates as our theme indicates, we are all going back to City High. Our alma mater will be the venue of our Reunion 2005. This will be held on December 30 at the DCNHS auditorium at 3:00PM .

Our reunion program will basically be, teambuilding activities. So, please come in your most comfortable attire. Dahil panigurado, mapapasabak tayong lahat. Walang batchmate ang manonood, nakaupo o nakatayo lang. Dahil lahat tayo ay kasali sa lahat ng activities. Naiintriga na ba kayo? Kaya ngayon pa lang, magvitamins na at mag-ensayo !

In line with this, we would like to launch our reunion project called “Sponsor-a-Batchmate and Knowledge TV for City High”. This project aims to subsidize the expenses of this year’s reunion and to donate a 29inch colored television set for DCNHS’s Knowledge Channel Program.

A reunion is not just for the common few. It is not “tayo-tayo lang” or “sila-sila lang”. It is OUR reunion. Para sa ating lahat ito.

This is the reason why we have thought of this project. We are hoping we could raise enough funds to subsidize this year’s reunion. Mas masaya if we could hold our reunion for free. Yup! Walang entrance fee, O hindi ba mas exciting !

DCNHS Principal Mrs. Aida Cloma has requested our batch if we could donate a 29inch colored television for their Knowledge Channel Program. They are integrating the Knowledge Channel as another instruction tool.

We would like to encourage your participation on this endeavor. Any amount you are going to share will surely contribute to the success of this project and to our Reunion 2005.
